REUSE Project to Host Its First Exploitation Workshop in Vienna (Hybrid)

The REUSE project, a Horizon Europe initiative exploring breakthrough carbon capture and
utilization (CCU) technologies, is inviting stakeholders and the wider public to its first Exploitation
Workshop on July 1, 2025. This hybrid event will be held in-person at CES Clean Energy Solutions in
Vienna and available online to international audiences

Focusing on enzymatic CO₂ capture in rotating packed beds and electrocatalytic CO₂ conversion,
the workshop aims to reshape perceptions around CCU and spark informed dialogue among
energy planners, environmental advocates, policymakers, and researchers.

Why Attend?

The workshop will:

  • Clarify CCU’s critical role in Europe’s decarbonization strategies
  • Highlight successful applications and case studies
  • Present emerging technologies and their integration potential

Experts from across Europe will offer deep dives into topics such as bioenergy roadmaps, CO₂
capture economics, and electrocatalytic advancements. Among the featured speakers are Dr.
Valter Silva (University of Aveiro), Prof. Jonathan Lee (University of Newcastle), and Prof. Dimitris
Tsiplakides (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

Targeted & Inclusive

While the in-person component is tailored to Viennese energy and sustainability stakeholders,
the online format ensures access to a broader European and global community
, encouraging
wide engagement on critical climate solutions.
